Use this delicious custard for any number of desserts such as vanilla slices, trifle, custard and fruit flans.
- 60g butter
- ⅓ cup plain flour
- 250 ml milk
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cream
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Melt the butter in a small saucepan, add flour and stir until smooth.
Gradually add the milk, continually stirring until boiling.
Cook for two minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in remaining ingredients and use as required.
(You may find the mixture easier to use once it is cold).
